The shirt dress

Dress (here) and Sandals (here) | Topshop

First of all I must appologise for my lack of posts recently (and lack of tan in the above photo's), I say recently its been over a month!! I think a full time job (placement), the gym and having my own place has literally taken over my life. But tho shalt promise from today to blog more often. I have all the content or at least post title's wrote down in my little note book, but don't seem to get the chance to actually finish them.

Anyway back to today's agenda - THE SHIRT DRESS!!
Since purchasing this somewhat brightly coloured shirt dress a few weeks ago I haven't been able to remove it from my body. There's something about a one piece that makes life feel much more easier.
No mess, no fuss dressing is officially my new fashion moto! Or at least till I get my life in order!

The midriff saga

Shirt | Zara. Culottes | Primark. Sandals | Topshop.

Yes its finally summer so time to bear the midriff, right?
This is possibly the first time I'm trying this - both on the blog and in real life. But I have to say I'm loving it - but only with high waisted trousers, I'm still working on those rock solid abs (Yeah sure!)
After reading a variety of fashion fulled websites on how to bear the midriff  -  I decided to ignore them all and opted for that 'Baby' from dirty dancing look.
Next up culottes or cropped flares, whatever you want to call them I can't stop wearing this navy blue pair. Comfy and flattering what else can a girl ask for in a pair of trousers!

Summer Vibes

If anything is gonna give me that summer feeling it’s this beautiful editorial piece from the June issue of Elle UK. Some actual sunshine might also get me feeling summery – last week we did see something that resembles summer here in the UK.Yippee!!
Those Elle stylists are always getting it right, I’m loving the 70’s bohemian summer vibes this piece gives off. Eclectic prints in bright bold colours are seen draped over gypsy dresses and silk kaftan's. The mixture of textures - crochet, knit and embellishment are all perfect for that effortless summer look. Team with statement jewellery and your beach side look is complete.

Swimming with the Fishes - HUNTER

When you think Hunter you instantly think of the classic wellington boot, seen on many (including myself) at festivals happening at this time of year. Recently they have upped their game and created more amazing pieces for us to love - come rain or shine.
Bright colours, bold prints and statement logos are all in play – seen on ponchos’ and the tall boot all suitable for the no doubt rainy British weather. But if that rare thing we call British sun appears there’s trendy statement sliders and Perspex visors to keep us entertained.

Hunter you’ve surprised us all! If you ask me bring on the rain, it’s an excuse to don a colourful poncho a pair of printed wellingtons and dance in the rain!

Seeing BLUE

Top | Topshop. Jeans | H&M. Shoes | Topshop Unique

I've been searching for the perfect denim top for some while however after finding it I didn't think of the reaction I would get from my boyfriend. We literally laughed our way around the super market aisle - apparently I resemble Robinson Crusoe. I'm guessing that has something to do with the frayed denim which I happen to love.

That's what I love about fashion though, it's a way to express yourself creatively and who cares if it's not to everyone's taste - it's about being you. *cringe inspirational rant over
This post has also alerted me to how much blue I own, I never knew it was my favourite colour!

Whats yours is mine

Shirt (Men's) | Next. Jeans | New Look. Shoes | Topshop Unique.
Its been practically 6 months to the day that I co-inhabited with my boyfriend and since then I have become rather inclined to stealing his clothes. We do share a wardrobe so I'm guessing whats his is mine right?
Who needs to go out and purchase that must have summer staple - I'm talking about the oversized shirt, when he has a rail full! I'm not a fan of cuff links though so I've become a custom to looking like I have very long arms (secretly loving the very long sleeve look.)
Wearing such things has led me to believe I love the masculine look more than recently known. But only when worn opposite something more feminine like these Topshop Unique mules. It seems investing in these last summer has paid off, the Internet tells me they are back for another season.

California Dreamin

Thanks to the thing that is social media, last week I was inundated with pictures from the amazing Louis Vuitton Resort show that took place in Palm Springs.
This last image enforced the title - of course stolen from the ultimate summer record by The Mama's and the Papa's.

Doing that flare thang

Jeans (here) and T-Shirt (similar here) | Topshop. Shoes | M&S (old - similar here) Bag | Warehouse (old - similar here) . Watch | Claire's Accessories

So I was hesitant for some while when it comes to flares. I do love the 70's/90's look but I tend to stay away from fashion fads - something I thought they would become. However trend reports have proved me wrong, it turns out they will be sticking around for sometime (or at least till AW16).
Long goes the days of wearing and owning only skinny jeans. HOORAY!
Wearing flares has however forced me to reminisce - being 15 (circa 2002) and wearing a pair of Lee flares till they became half mass thanks to a teenage growth spurt. Maybe I'll sport them with a pair of Adidas Campus like I did back then!

Casuals

Coat | H&M. Jeans | Topshop. Jumper | Primark. Trainers | Nike (JD Sports)

My daily life has lately consisted of casuals, in actual fact when it comes to dressing up I start to panic. Yes I do own smart (going out) clothes but the majority of my wardrobe is casuals. I always believe your clothes/style reflects your lifestyle and been a student has resulted in a wardrobe compiled of jeans, trainers and t-shirts.
*note to self purchase a going out top (if that's still a thing) ASAP!
