This week I'm reading

I finished University for Summer way back in late April but somehow time has managed to quickly pass me by. Now it's officially the school summer holidays and I finally have a little time to relax. What better way to do so than with a good book. I may be the only 20 something girl that still borrows library books but there's so much great choice on offer, so why buy? Yes, I may be behind the times when it comes to technology but in a contest of e-book versus hardback - hardback always wins.
Anyway down to my chosen selection, every girl loves shoes and whats better then the story behind designer shoe brand Jimmy Choo. 'In my Shoes A Memoir' by Tamara Mellon is a self written biography about Tamara Mellon's life and co-founding the Jimmy Choo brand. Next up on my reading list 'Vogue on Vivienne Westwood'. Page after page of beautiful model wearing beautiful clothing designed by great British designer, Westwood. What more does a fashion loving girl need.
Happy Summer

A Sunday stroll

Dress and Shirt here | Topshop. Espadrilles | Dune here

This Sunday was a great day for a stroll, it was also the perfect opportunity to take my new purchases for an outing. The perfect stroll clothing items have to be a slouchy (stripey dress), simple military shirt and the comfiest shoes I may have ever owned, espadrilles. If you caught my AW14 trends post here you will notice I'm already prepping for the ever approaching colder season with one of these on trend items. As for the espadrilles another sale steal reduced from £49 to £19! I just had to have them.

A shade or two

I'm not one for lipstick but recently I've become partial to a shade or 2 to brighten up my look. I tried and tested two shades to share with you.
Firstly I started with Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Moss - Shade No1 Rossetto. A perfect red not too dark and not too orange. We all know that red lipstick is probably the worlds messiest shade, usually ending up with what resembles a clown face. When applied with a lipstick brush a clean, neat look was achieved. What do you think? Pretty great if I do say so myself.
Next up Revlon Super Lustrous Matte - Shade No 013 Smoked Peach. A lighter shade of coral but great for everyday use, easily applied again for neatness with a brush. I really struggled to find the right shade of coral, my hand was filled with a million colours whilst browsing the boots make up counters. This coral colour is the right amount of peach and pink. Perfect!

Countryside

Top and Shoes | Topshop. Jeans | New Look. Sunglasses | Claire's Accessories

It's official, I'm addicted to the Topshop App! It happened whilst searching for this top.
Festival season is in full swing so I thought it was time that I got into the spirit myself. I'm not officially attending a festival this year but who said you can't don festival inspired apparel for a trip to Sainsbury's? This is where the top comes in. White - check, embroidery - check, frilly sleeves - check. With all boxes ticked I headed off (camera and boyfriend in tow) to my nearest country lane, although I'm not sure the heels would survive at a festival *note to self swap for trusty hunters.

Lets talk TRENDS!

Fendi a/w14, Balmain a/w14, Saint Laurent a/w14, Isabel Marant a/w14

At the beginning of  every month, I wait excitedly for my post man to deliver my favourite fashion glossy - ELLE! I usually race to the street style pages but not this month as my favourite fashion 6 monthly moment has arrived. The Autumn/Winter 2014 trend reports!
If you've been reading my blog for a while now you will know that the autumn/winter season is my favourite, in fact I spend most of the summer months dreaming about winter walks in my favourite parka and scarf. This could have something to do with my English pale skin not coping well in the summer, so much so that factor 35 sun cream is needed even in England (yes SPF does go that high). Saying all this sunny summer mornings do make getting out of bed much easier.
I'm thrilled to tell you this a/w14 that MILITARY is back, but with a very modern 2014 twist. Yes this may be a predictable winter trend but it seems very relevant for the times. Military was seen at Fendi, Isabel Marant, Balmain and Saint Laurent in a mixture of shapes, styles and colours. I'm particularly in love with the camouflage fur ankle length coat at Fendi, they also showed some beautiful knee length bombers and wool bell skirts. Details included patchwork fur, large buckles and satin boots. It was all about fitted leather styles at Balmain, short layered leather jackets with large lapels teamed with satin military inspired trousers.
However, to make these catwalk looks more wearable think giant fur hooded parka's at Saint Laurent and neutral coloured shirt dresses at Isabel Marant. According to ELLE, we should head to H&M for highstreet military pieces. Now all we need is to wait for those colder months to arrive, or simply jet off to a colder climate ourselves. Happy Monday.

BLOGS, BLOGS, BLOGS....

A post I've been meaning to write for a while involves informing you of my many favourite blogs, blogs which I avidly read on a daily basis and can't get enough of.  There are far too many to mention so I've chosen my top 3, all great fashion and style blogs but all unique in there own way.

A Portable Package
A fashion, style and beauty blog wrote by blogger, photographer and full time dentist Irina Lakicevic. A Portable Package was discovered via the H&M Life style page and is filled with to many to die for designer items, all effortlessly styled. Take a peak at 'Comfort Zone' here, I've been in envy of this beautiful winter coat since I first laid my eyes on it.

Into the Fold
Into the Fold - the fashion, travel and style blog I'm inspired by the most is blogged by Camilla Ackley who creates outfits that are so simple and effortless but ever so stylish. I've been following this blog religiously for about a year and it continues to inspire my style on a daily basis. Camilla owns some beautiful sartorial pieces and is also lucky enough to travel to some beautiful places, all documented and photographed on Into the Fold. I love Camilla's winter outfits the most check out 'Hand on Heart' here

Sarah Mikaela, Danish/Australian living in London and blogging via Framboise Fashion. A rather new addition to my list of favourite blogs, filled with fantastic style inspiration and great shots of London. I love Sarah's effortless danish minimalistic style with that much needed pop of colour. A favourite recent post, 'Denim Devotion' here will inspire many of my denim posts to come.

These Nike Dual Fusion's are ticking all the boxes, I'm not the ultimate girly girl but I'm loving the bright pink laces!!! Here's to more happy (and stylish) running miles.

Stripes

Dress | Topshop. Shoes | Superga. Jacket | H&M. Bag | Vintage

I'm sure you have already noticed by now that I'm an avid lover of stripes and there's nothing better than finding the dress you were eying up a while ago now in the Topshop sale! Recently I've decided dresses are my sartorial savior. I am however partial to the more boyish unflattering styles than fitted girly numbers. You would think by the age of 26 I would have found what suits my figure but I'm still learning. You know the drill, trying on 12 items in the changing room and none of them looking right, however with this striping number my look has finally changed. YAY!

HAPPY SALE SHOPPING EVERYONE

P.S here's some of my online sale favourites...
