A statement piece

Coat | H&M here. Top similar here and Bag similar here | Topshop. Jeans | New Look similar here. Boots | Faith (old).

My regular life has finally resumed....yes I'm back at University and I couldn't be happier. The biggest student perk has to be Unidays student discount. Spontaneous shopping trips can often be the best and last Wednesday I found this beautiful oversized grey coat for the bargain price of £24.99. Plus Unidays gave me an added 20% off student discount giving me a staple winter piece for only £19.99!
The weather has cooled and I can say Autumn is in full swing. I teamed my new coat with a simple v neck tee, skinny jeans and a pair of knee high boots on this crisp Saturday morning.

Milan SS15

Fendi SS15

I haven't kept up to date with the Milan fashion shows (I'm a New york and London kinda gal) but after some much needed research I found a favourite - FENDI.
The Fendi runway came alive this season. For the first time ever denim was on display and Karl had designed a new motif 'the orchid' seen throughout the collection. Everything from leather to pleats and embroidery to applique was strutted down the runway. A colour palette of black, blues, pinks and reds were used. Skirt hemlines were high and trousers loose but nipped in at the ankle. Favourite detail the leather applique. A carefully hand crafted collection - just perfection.

The Greenway

Skirt and Coat | H&M. Sweater, Bag and Shoes here | Topshop.

With the darker evenings creeping in it's getting more and more difficult to shoot outfit posts. Working weekends doesn't help but that's the life of a student. This outfit give's off that school uniform vibe that I seem to be loving lately. Finished off with the new Autumn/Winter staple 'the flat' and what resembles a doctors bag.
In other news I'm back at university this week and couldn't be more happier. (Its been a long summer)

New York SS15

Thakoon SS15

Palm tropical prints and loose silky soft pieces were all seen strutting down the runway at the Thakoon SS15 show in New York. Thakoon found inspiration from the 1959 movie 'Black Orpheus' the designer said this about the collection "exoticism through the eyes of a tourist." (style.com. 2014)
The show's mood was set with slanted blinds that cast what looked like an early evening sunlight on the runway.
This collection reflects a beach wear vibe with brightly coloured tropical palm prints and loose silhouettes seen throughout. The perfect sartorial for any tropical location.

Mary Katrantzou SS15

Mary Katrantzou delivered an embellished, embroidered extravaganza this SS15. This collection Mary dared to be even more creative - gaining inspiration from the earth millions of years ago. This is seen in the delicate and exquisite embroidery, cut-out silhouettes and beautiful sheer fabrics. All which give that much needed nod to the Spring/Summer season.
Mary often creates simple pieces but by adding print, embroidery, embellishment and a beautiful range of luxurious fabrics, each design becomes individual to her.
I love the emerging 'trouser trend' seen this SS15. Mary has re-designed two of my favourites - the wide leg and the slim leg but with a spring/summer twist.
(I just LOVE the blue ones)

Is it Autumn yet?

Jumper (here), Bag (here) and Jeans (here) | Topshop. Shoes | Superga (here)

I've already started to get ready for the autumn/winter season by investing in a few classic pieces starting with - the jumper. I did inform you of my dream jumper by Zara but unfortunately by the time pay day rolled by it was out of stock *note to self - anytime you see something in Zara buy immediately. However I did manage to find this not so little number in Topshop. It ticks all the boxes fluffy - check, oversized - check, roll neck - check....the list goes on.
The season isn't just where I want it to be (a very thick jumper in early September was rather warm) but the leaves have started falling so not long now (fingers crossed).

Chatsworth

Wellingtons | Hunter. Top, Shirt and Jeans | Topshop. Denim Jacket | Levi's. Scarf | M&S. Bag | Market. Sunglasses | Claire's.

This weekend I donned my Hunters and drove into the country for The Chatsworth Country Fair. Chatsworth provided a day full of all things British. Fish and Chips, Pimms, Strawberry's and cream, Hog roasts, cider and that's just the food and drink. We also enjoyed a vintage fair ground, pretty old fashioned buses, jousting and dog shows.
Chatsworth House is truly worth a visit I love imagining the dukes and duchesses of times gone by walking around the gardens and enjoying royal life. It's like something from a fairy tale.
Happy September!! x
