Are skinny jeans bad for our health?

Like many of us I've been wearing skinny jeans for many years, I can actually remember purchasing my first ever pair - I'm talking nearly ten years ago now (I actually wore them on my first date with my current boyfriend). Who knew the style would have lasted this long?
But maybe it's come to the end.... according to today's news SKINNY JEANS ARE BAD FOR OUR HEALTH!!
Everyday something is given a health warning but now our favourite pair of jeans??
Apparently they can cause numb thighs, tingling and, in some severe cases, collapsing with swollen calves.
I have to admit the only side effect I've ever had is blue dyed legs!

According to BBC News 'Skinny jeans can seriously damage muscles and nerves....
A 35-year-old woman had to be cut out of a pair after her calves ballooned in size, the medics said in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry.
She had spent hours squatting to empty cupboards for a house move in Australia. By evening, her feet were numb and she found it hard to walk.
Doctors believe the woman developed a condition called compartment syndrome, made worse by her skinny jeans.'

Is this really gonna stop us squeezing into our favourite pair of skinny jeans? I don't think so - but those new flared jeans I purchased last month are looking kinda healthy right now!

Summer Vibes

If anything is gonna give me that summer feeling it’s this beautiful editorial piece from the June issue of Elle UK. Some actual sunshine might also get me feeling summery – last week we did see something that resembles summer here in the UK.Yippee!!
Those Elle stylists are always getting it right, I’m loving the 70’s bohemian summer vibes this piece gives off. Eclectic prints in bright bold colours are seen draped over gypsy dresses and silk kaftan's. The mixture of textures - crochet, knit and embellishment are all perfect for that effortless summer look. Team with statement jewellery and your beach side look is complete.

When you think Hunter you instantly think of the classic wellington boot, seen on many (including myself) at festivals happening at this time of year. Recently they have upped their game and created more amazing pieces for us to love - come rain or shine.
Bright colours, bold prints and statement logos are all in play – seen on ponchos’ and the tall boot all suitable for the no doubt rainy British weather. But if that rare thing we call British sun appears there’s trendy statement sliders and Perspex visors to keep us entertained.

Hunter you’ve surprised us all! If you ask me bring on the rain, it’s an excuse to don a colourful poncho a pair of printed wellingtons and dance in the rain!

Compulsive Instagram Purger

I'm guessing it depends on who you follow but I think my following list is making me a hater (the only word to describe it) - my list mainly consists of photographers, bloggers, fashion people and friends.

Since finishing uni a few weeks ago life has slowed down and my purging of Instagram has become more frequent. I'm guessing this hater-ism is down to the fact everyone who's anyone is jetting off to some tropical climate or cool European city.
I on the over hand is sat on my sofa watching ridiculous amounts of Friends (courtesy of Comedy Central) waiting anxiously for my placement to start in July. I'm sure these individuals have worked really hard and deserve a break away from this sometimes dull existence we call life, either that or they are just very lucky people - I'm hoping it's the latter.

Whilst procrastinating my way through the day the thought came to write about this. I really can't be the only post university, pre-placement girl who feels this way. Can I? That said maybe I'm the only individual not escaping Britain this year *sobs into wine glass.

I'm not normally like this, I'd like to think I'm a positive person with a go getter attitude - after all I did return to uni as a twenty something to get the career I've always wanted.
Next step from this post - must purge only three times a day - MAX!

Seeing BLUE

Top | Topshop. Jeans | H&M. Shoes | Topshop Unique

I've been searching for the perfect denim top for some while however after finding it I didn't think of the reaction I would get from my boyfriend. We literally laughed our way around the super market aisle - apparently I resemble Robinson Crusoe. I'm guessing that has something to do with the frayed denim which I happen to love.

That's what I love about fashion though, it's a way to express yourself creatively and who cares if it's not to everyone's taste - it's about being you. *cringe inspirational rant over
This post has also alerted me to how much blue I own, I never knew it was my favourite colour!
