A Piece of Topshop Unique

On a sunny Wednesday morning a delivery man made me one very happy girl. The shoes I'd been eyeing up for a while finally arrived! Yes I know I've been harping on about these for a while but I couldn't wait to own a piece of Topshop Unique!
As Topshop Unique have an official show at London Fashion Week, I can now say I own a piece of designer clothing (this may not happen very often). All I can say is thank goodness for Unidays (and gift cards).
I just love the simplicity of these shoes we call mules and a chunky heel makes for an easier walk. They may be rather 90's, I do remember Carrie Bradshaw strutting around Manhattan in many a pair and that's possibly why I love them so.
Keep your eyes peeled I'm pretty sure the Mule will become a S|S14 must have.
Now all I need is some more of that sunnier weather we have been having to give them the outing they deserve.
Have a great Weekend.x

Topshop x Adidas Originals

So.....some of you may have heard Topshop have very recently released their collaboration with Adidas Originals and I have to say its pretty cool. Ever since my Mum purchased me a great tracksuit  when I was a child I have always loved sportswear. However over the years it seems to have become absent from my wardrobe I guess that's down to a change in lifestyle, except for the few pairs of trainers I own and the running clothes used to try and get me into shape. Looking through the great pieces Topshop and Adidas have created together I think I may have to invest in a few items. The classic stripes are there but mingled in with great prints and bright colours that represent the Topshop handwriting. Its selling out fast though so grab it while it's hot!

A Beautiful Blue Door

T-Shirt, Jumper, Jeans and Bag | Topshop. Boots | ASOS. Parka | River Island

Taking photographs this weekend seemed like an impossible task, one minute the sun was out the next pouring with rain and at one point HAIL.
Some how between work and rain/hail showers these great shots were taken. As a student I don't have that endless wardrobe full of amazing clothes I would love....but I do try and mix it up.
I went for a trusty all black outfit, as they say if nothing else works.
I've been wanting to don these biker boots in a post for a while now and as I'm still channeling the Autumn|Winter 13 grunge trend I thought these were perfect (plus I'm still dreaming about the Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane show, yes that was over a year ago now). Also Spring|Summer 14 is just around the corner and I'm making the most of it.
Speaking of Spring I've just purchased my first piece of Topshop Unique, a pair of gorgeous Mules. Yes the Mule is back. Only a few more days and I will be one very happy girl. Keep Posted!
p.s. How beautiful is this blue door??

In a tortoise shell

Sunglasses | Claire's Accessories
As sunglasses go tortoise shell seems like the best way forward. I've owned one too many pairs of sunglasses which have evidently been broken or lost. Their departure has been either under my foot or from my head whilst dancing excitedly at Leeds Fest. Anyway less of the tangent chat, these are most definitely going to stay safe in a hard case. It took a while to find the right pair,  I knew I wanted tortoise shell, less harsh on the pale skin tone.....but what shape? Square, round? After much consideration a decision was made. After all I knew they would go with most wardrobe items (something I always have in mind when purchasing any sartorial item) and the rest is history.

A Layering Tutorial

Jeans and Shoes | Newlook. Camouflage Jacket and Bag | Topshop.  Green Jacket | Army Surplus. Shirt | Next

So....I've been wanting to try out some layering for a while and by layering I mean physically grabbing everything in my wardrobe, throwing them all on and seeing what works. After much consideration I figured these two camo/army jackets worked well together. Agree?
Other options included dresses over jeans, skirts over trousers and layering winter coats with denim ones. I added an oversized white shirt (borrowed from the boyfriend, sorry Mark I will one day stop raiding your wardrobe) skinny blue jeans, a very large black bag and simple strappy heels. The perfect outfit for Saturday morning Lattes.
My love for layering may have come from the queen of layering Leandra Medine of 'the man repeller'. I don't know what it is but she always makes it work. Have in mind she has a wardrobe to die for, mines still growing in size, shape and colour!
Keep posted....next time I plan on layering my whole wardrobe or at least all my favourite pieces.
