Trend Notes: Spring/Summer13
'90's Grunge'
Left to right - Ashish S/S13, Driers Van Noten S/S13, 3.1 Philip Lim S/S13
I'm ready to try out the new S/S13 trends (its just a shame the weather isn't ready for it) and this is already one of my faves.... Grunge!!
From high waist denim cut offs and crop tops to camo jackets and biker boot's I'm LOVING it.
On the Catwalks of Spring/Summer13 we saw many designers putting a twist on the grunge trend. My favourites were seen at 3.1 Philip Lim, Dries Van Noten and Ashish, these designers have all created some amazing designs.
Dries Van Noten went all out with plaid and layers, theirs just something about plaid that creates a relaxed yet cool look and layers are essential for any grunge girl (I often team my camo jacket with my boyfriends oversized hoody). I loved the plaid wrap dress and sheer plaid blouses teamed with more plaid for that striking catwalk image.
Philip Lim went for oversized tees, dungarees (in magenta pink) and sheer dresses showing a little midriff (another grunge essential). Magenta pink aside colours were kept neutral with mainly blacks and whites.
Lastly Ashish, who teamed patchwork oversized denim with the classic 90's hair accessory 'The Scrunchy''! The models look true 90's with messy top knots in black and white scrunchies.
Give the 90's grunge look a go for yourself.....
Top grunge girl essentials:
Denim Jacket
Biker Boots
Plaid Shirt
Beanie Hat
Mini Skirt
and if you dare The Scrunchy...
Have fun!
